The Miracles of Archangel Gabriel

As an avid reader of Doreen Virtue's books, I'm always anxious to read her newest offerings.  The Miracles of Archangel Gabriel did not disappoint.  The book gives a clearer insight into the Archangel Gabriel  with historical and biblical references, stories, and beautiful paintings.  The personal accounts by people who were aided by Gabriel were particularly interesting to read, since there are so many different ways that Archangel Gabriel comes into people's lives. The stories were very touching and inspiring.

Although the Archangel Gabriel is described as the guide for the messengers, such as writers, musicians , artists and parents, anyone can benefit from this book. The introduction gives you a history of Archangel Gabriel. Some of the various chapters in the book are: Conceptions and Pregnancy, Visions of Gabriel, Gabriel's Writers, Gabriel's Name and Other Heavenly Signs,  Gabriel, the Angel of Strength, and an appendix with Biblical references to Gabriel, which I liked, and found very helpful.

The book also lists some telltale signs that the Archangel Gabriel is around you, and explains how to better communicate with Gabriel and lists some of the ways other people have done that in their personal stories.

Doreen Virtue presents this as a non-denominational book. There is absolutely nothing offensive or preachy about this book if that is a concern for some people. With Archangels being of a divine nature, it should not surprise people that there are Biblical references in this book, which are both helpful and enlightening. This is an uplifting and beautifully written book which I would highly recommend.

Tap Your Way To A Better You!

The Tapping Solution by Nick Ortner was a pleasant surprise! There are so many self-help books written today that may deliver what is promised, but sometimes tend to take some time before they do.  There are many things I like about this book, starting with how easy it is to get started with tapping.  The author provides a background on tapping that gives you enough of an understanding of it to quickly get started.  There is a quick start chapter with the tapping diagram showing each meridian point, the sequence, and scripts that help you with what to say during your tapping sessions.  There are examples of case studies which go into many different areas where tapping is used.  What surprised me is how many ways you can use tapping. There are chapters which go into detail relating to physical and emotional ailments and how to heal them.  I decided to give the tapping  a try for stress relief. It does take a few times to get used to the tapping areas at first, but after repeating them, it becomes easy to remember.  The tapping did lessen my stress and the best part is that I didn’t have to spend hours doing this to achieve results.  If you go into this with a positive approach and give it a try, it does work. The author was clear and to the point in a book that was just 229 pages long.  I’m looking forward to applying the tapping principles to other areas also.  I highly recommend this book . FTC Disclosure: I received this book for free from Hay House Publishing for this review. The opinion in this review is unbiased and reflects my honest judgement of the product. New Cookbook to Lift The Spirit

When I first received The LooneySpoons Collection from Hay House publishing for review purposes, I really didn’t know what to expect. Since I personally have a large library of many different types of cookbooks, I pretty much was expecting another run of the mill “healthy eating” cookbook. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this book. Packing in over a whopping 325 recipes in all, I didn’t know where to start, so many of the recipes were appealing. I loved the very witty recipe names the authors used from various tv shows, movies and songs, such as “Bean Me Up, Scotty”, and “Everybody Loves Raysins”. Each page has colorful and comical food related graphics as well as photos of some of the dishes. What I liked was that each recipe is very clearly presented with not only the actual nutrition information for the recipe, but there are recipe tips, nutritional nuggets, trivial tidbits and random jokes all throughout the book. What really impressed me about the recipes was that the lists of ingredients were not too lengthly or exotic. It won’t have you running around to several different stores looking for obscure ingredients that you’ll only use once and be stuck with. When there is a call for canned ingredients, it is either low fat, no salt added or low sodium that is listed. I’ve tried several of the recipes and some of my favorites are the “Thai Beau” (Thai coconut chicken with mango and basil), “I’m Dreaming of a White Chili”, and “The Rice is Right” (veggie fried rice). In the dessert section, which is labeled the “House of Carbs” chapter, there are some great looking recipes to try, like the ”Fantasy Island Cake”  and “Oops! There it is! Chocolate Cake” which are healthier and lower in  calories. There are a few dessert recipes in the back of the book in the “Splurge Worthy” chapter, where there are no calorie counts given because they are richer recipes. The chapter description has a funny warning for the recipes because they are so good and highly addictive. There are only 3 cake recipes and one main dish recipe in this chapter thankfully! The authors were even kind enough not to leave old Fido out either. There’s a recipe in the book for healthy dog biscuits too! All in all, this cookbook is different from most, because you don’t feel as if you’re being forced to eat things you don’t like to stay healthy. This book has lots of variety, with easy, tasty recipes that won’t cost a fortune to make. If I had not received this book for free from Hay House, I still would have purchased it.
